Es de conocimiento general que las memorias USB, son el principal medio de infección y propagación de virus, esto porque poseen un archivo de Autoarranque que conocemos como Autorun. Es ahí donde los virus se ocultan y lo aprovechan para cada vez que el usuario ejecute (abra) el dispositivo, infecte al equipo y vaya propagándose a todas las unidades de disco duro y externas que encuentre a su paso.

Pero esta situación puede evitarse fácilmente si nos valemos del uso de Bitdefender USB Immunizer, una aplicación gratuita que como bien lo dice el nombre; inmuniza memorias USB, protegiendo el archivo Autorun contra infecciones de malware en general.

 

Se trata de una herramienta en inglés portable, que trabaja desde la bandeja del sistema y desde allí tiene la capacidad de bloquear el Autorun de las USB que sean conectadas al equipo; para así luego ejecutarlas con confianza en caso de que estén infectadas. Previamente hay que habilitar esta opción dentro de los ajustes del programa.

Bitdefender USB Immunizer detecta automáticamente las unidades USB conectadas, y sólo es cuestión de elegir la USB a inmunizar, señaladas con icono rojo; como se muestra en la primer imagen. Si se muestra verde significa que ya se encuentra protegida, podemos estar tranquilos.
